Someone who asks for nothing but your company

Do you enter conversations with the intent to "win", influence, or achieve a certain outcome? Do you already have an idea of what the other person thinks, feels and what they are going to say? Try this instead: see the interaction as your job to make the other person look good. Focus on them, not on you and how you come across. Be interested, don't worry so much about being interesting. Say yes, don't block the conversation. Respond playfully. Stay present. Watch how rewarding it is to have a conversation that is not ruled by fears, assumptions, or manipulation.

How beautiful it is to find someone who asks for nothing but your company in a world that is constantly trying to get something from you, or change you.

Connect

Look into my eyes and smile Follow me with your gaze Come and stand beside me Drink in my scent Graze my arm with yours And let yourself breathe out You're safe here by my side Talk with me about everything And nothing at all Laugh, and cry with me Share a meal with me Hold me close and cherish me. Touch my hand as we walk together Write me words of love Lose yourself in my embrace And find out what I'm worth Kiss like it's the first time, the last time and the best Take me away with you And show me all the rest.

Dream

Would you mind dreaming with me a little while longer Because I'm not finished with you yet You tell me not to remember But I don't want to forget It may not be perfect, nor am I, neither are you But you bring me something I can hold on to It helps me surrender It helps me advance And most of all, you already know, It makes my soul dance.

Parallel lines

We’re a pair of parallel lines You’re just like me We’re on the same path But we don’t ever meet You talk to all my friends  but me I guess I’m not that nice after all You You’re in the house up on a cloud Me I’m on a mission.
