I had a dream about you last night again

We jumped off a cliff together

Holding hands, terrified and so alive

I’ve never known such freedom

Not in real life

We plunged into the freezing water

We screamed and laughed as we came up for air

We were completely alone

A dark forest behind us

It was almost dark

The orange horizon was fast approaching

I remember not wanting to leave

My teeth were chattering

But your chest was so warm

As you held me against you

Looking out over the water together

The whole world, still, before us

My heart was pounding

My mind was racing

But as usual, your warm, strong embrace

Gave me the settled peace my soul longs for

I gazed up at you

Wishing we never had to look away

Because I could hold your gaze for all eternity

Have you ever felt this way?
